You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Matthew 24:6-8

On January 12, a powerful earthquake hit Haitian capital, Port-Au-Prince. Haitian interior minister, Paul Antoine Bein Aime, told news agency Reuters, “We anticipate there will be between 100000 and 200000 dead in total, although we will never know the exact number.” The report also said that the Haitian quake “would be one of the ten deadliest ever.”      

The world has seen a series of catastrophic events since the beginning of the third millennium. Several thousands have perished in wars, acts of terrorism, earthquakes, tsunami, floods, and famines. Jesus Christ had prophesied more than 2000 years ago that such disasters would take place during the end times, before his return.   

However, sadly, many cannot see the writing on the wall. The end of the world is nearer and Jesus Christ is coming soon to judge the world. The devil has blinded the eyes of the people and they are unable to understand where the world is hurtling down to. People who die without knowing Christ will end up in the burning fire of hell, where they would have to spend eternity in torment and pain.
